Terrapin Horse Center

Welcome to Terrapin Horse Center!  We are a horse rehabilitation, hospice, boarding and training  facility located in Swansboro, North Carolina, 14 miles east of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and 10 miles west of the beaches of Emerald Isle.  We work tirelessly to provide a safe, healthy, positive and loving atmosphere for our horses and riders. We offer a roomy barn, round pen, riding arena, wooded riding trails, high quality feed and hay, versatile instruction, and excellent, individualized care. 

Terrapin Horse Center invites horses and horse lovers of all ages, sizes and experience levels to come see what we're all about. Just give us a call to set up a visit!  All riding disciplines and breeds are welcome. Although everyone is welcome at Terrapin...we cater to those individuals interested in natural horse care and alternative or integrative therapies for horses and pets.

Educational workshops and lectures on various horse related topics are offered at Terrapin Horse Center. Please view our News and Events page for a schedule of upcoming events at our facility or the surrounding area.

Our hours of operation are:

Monday thru Friday - 9 AM to 5 PM

Saturday - 9 AM to 12 PM

Sunday - Open to boarders only

Terrapin is a PRIVATE facility and is NOT open to the general public for walk-in visits. The privacy of our clients and boarders is very important to us. We also prefer to avoid interruptions while working with our vet and rehab cases. For those reasons, we ask that all visitors please  call  ahead to schedule an appointment.
